Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our client’s leadership team. The COO will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all aspects of their business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in the distribution industry, with strong focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive growth and enhance our competitive position in the market.
  • Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of our company's operations, including warehousing, logistics, inventory management, and distribution processes.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, streamline processes, and reduce costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing operations team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to drive employee engagement and retention.
  • Customer Focus: Champion a customer-centric approach to operations, ensuring that our products and services consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards and implement robust risk management practices to safeguard the company's assets and reputation.
  • Financial Oversight: Work closely with the CFO to develop and manage budgets, forecast financial performance, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings.

  • Vendor and Supplier Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the operations team, fostering innovation and implementing best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the distribution industry, with a minimum of 10-years of experience.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and drive results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated success in leading operational initiatives and driving process improvements.
  • Solid understanding of financial management principles and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving collaboration across departments.

Compensation and Benefits

The targeted base compensation for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 and the bonus based on EBITDA. This company offers a full complement of benefits for the employee and dependents.
